On Sunday 23rd August we are planning to have an all-age outdoor service in the chapel grounds at 10:30 am.

We will meet under the trees next to the car park as there is a big space there allowing us to keep 2m social distancing between family groups or bubbles. Please bring a picnic blanket or chairs to sit on if you are able to. We will provide some chairs for those who are unable to bring their own. Please bring any drinks or snacks if you would like them, since we are not allowed to provide them at this time.

The service will be different from usual as we are not allowed to sing, but it will be good to get together to worship God. We will go ahead with the service as long as it is not raining hard. The toilet in the church building will be available if anybody shoul need to use it.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as feel that you are able to come.

Minister Sonya Setchell

Since March 2019 we have been joined by Sonya Setchell who has taken up the role of Minister at Stoke St. Gregory Baptist Church.

After a series of meetings and discussions, backed by considerable prayer, we have put together our church profile. The full text can be found here. The summary is as follows.

The Chapel is looking as beautiful as it always does for our Harvest celebrations. Our displays this year were created by people of all ages. The money donated for tea and cake this afternoon, and our offering tomorrow is going to the work of Mission Direct.

A group from the church went for a ‘Refresh, Renew, Resource’ weekend at Lee Abbey back in June. The weather was hot and sunny (some were even heard to say it was too hot!), the fellowship and teaching amazing.

Mission Direct

Our church has strong links with overseas mission.  We support, through our giving and our praying, the work of BMS World Mission, especially our link missionaries, serving in Asia.

Barbara and Bill

Our minister, Barbara, along with her husband, Bill, will be leaving at the end of September 2017 after 8 years here in Stoke St Gregory.

We thank God for his generosity, through his people, in making  possible all that’s been done so far.

Our Verse for 2020

'And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.  Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.'

(Colossians 2:6+7)
